Profile
GRAND INDONESIA - At The Heart of The Nation
Grand Indonesia is the premier icon in the Indonesian retail scene, with a total measurement of about 640,000 m2 (6,900,000 sq ft). It is located beside the prominent Selamat Datang Monument, fronting the traffic circle, Bundaran HI, in Jakarta in Indonesia.
Grand Indonesia comprises Grand Indonesia Shopping Town, Hotel Indonesia and Menara BCA.
Grand Indonesia Shopping Town delivers the ultimate, trend-setting shopping, dining, and entertainment experience spread out over more than 250,000 m2 in eight levels. The shopping Town consists of 2 blocks linked by a multilevel bridge and zoned into 3 specialized districts to cater to individuals needs.
Hotel Indonesia - Kempinski, the first 5-star hotel in Indonesia, will be restored under the guidance of Kempinski and HBA / Hirsch Bedner Associates. With five restaurants and lounges, along with 280 suite style guest rooms, the Hotel Indonesia - Kempinski boasts such luxury for Indonesian's riches and expatriates.
Menara BCA is Jakarta's tallest premium-grade office building that incorporates the latest design and structural layouts with state-of-the art technology, all in elegant, business-friendly environment.
Teledata's Solution: Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitches
To meet Grand Indonesia's building network needs, PT Teledata Indonesia in 2007 implemented Alcatel-Lucent's portfolio of cost-effective LAN (Local Area Network) and WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) systems. The highly scalable product lines accommodated Grand Indonesia's growing data network by enabling them to use existing skills and investments, interconnect buildings and provide outdoor mobile access.
Two Network Solutions were implemented at Grand Indonesia's Network Operating Centers (NOCs):
- The Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch 6850 (OS6850) series is L3 GigE fixed configuration stackable LAN switches. Small in size but big in performance, it excels at the edge and in the core with the industry's most advanced triple-play services, PoE, L2/L3 performance and extensive network security.
By providing price/performance leadership, advanced QoS and layer-3 features, the OS6850 fits into Grand Indonesia's stackable lineup, it's fast enough for the edge, and powerful enough to anchor the NOCs' core.
- The Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch 9700 switch addresses the evolving needs of Grand Indonesia: high availability, wire-speed performance, high density GigE and 10GigE, and dramatically improved network response time. These capabilities ensure an easy and economical way to upgrade or deploy a new Ethernet network.
The large number of ports makes the OmniSwitch 9700 suitable for two or three-tier network designs. This is possible because of the high performance capability and density of GigE and 10GigE. With native and full support of both IPv6 and IPv4 protocols, the OS9700 future proofs the enterprise, ensuring worry-free, phased migrations to IPv6. |
